As the EU Methane Regulation sets a new global bar for methane accountability, U.S. and other non-EU oil and gas operators can’t afford to sit this one out. In this episode of MethaneTalks, we’re joined by experts from MiQ, a leading organization in methane emissions certification, to unpack how these ambitious rules are reshaping global energy markets and what producers and importers need to do now to stay ahead. Hear why more operators are turning to frameworks like MiQ and OGMP 2.0 to build credible data, ensure compliance, and unlock real commercial, reputational, and operational value. Discover what the phased rollout means in practice, the risks of waiting too long, and how CIRIS, MiQ’s new cross-border certificate system, can help simplify compliance and build trust. It’s a practical look at balancing transparency with pragmatism in a world where your gas may soon need a ‘methane passport’ to keep crossing borders.
