This includes identifying and appraising existing technology readiness, and championing the latest advancements in innovations that are reducing emissions from existing facilities and unlocking the full potential of an integrated energy system.

Main Conference Day 2: Thursday 27th February

11:30 AM Field-Proven Measurement: Standardising Methane Detection Through Controlled Releases in the North Sea

Innovators across the energy sector often face years of delay before their technologies reach operational scale, especially in complex areas like offshore methane measurement. NZTC is tackling this challenge head-on through a joint innovation programme in the North Sea, bringing together operators and technology developers to conduct controlled release trials. By creating neutral ground for shared testing and learning, NZTC is fast-tracking the validation of emerging and existing measurement technologies, with the goal of building a consistent, repeatable, and scalable framework for industry-wide adoption.

  • Gain insight into NZTC’s controlled release programme and how it enables real-world validation of methane measurement technologies
  • Explore how operator collaboration is reducing uncertainty and driving consistency in measurement approaches.
  • Understand the strategic value of early engagement with NZTC’s technology portfolio for deployment and scale-up

1:30 PM Panel: Navigating Offshore Measurement and Reduction: A European Perspective

  • Address regulatory requirements specific to offshore operations and their impact on emission reduction strategies
  • How can partnerships, industry standards, and information sharing enhance mitigation efforts
  • Explore specific requirements for offshore technology use, including safety certifications that consider specific environmental conditions i.e. weather conditions and asset accessibility
  • Best practice for offshore detection and quantification

Check out the incredible speaker line-up to see who will be joining Rebecca.
