Rebecca Allison is an established and committed leader in the energy sector, spearheading efforts to accelerate the transition to net zero. As Chief Operations Officer at the Net Zero Technology Centre (NZTC), she leads the delivery of critical technology programmes including NZTC’s methane measurement and monitoring JIP, supported by 12 operators to enable data correlation and methane abatement practices as well as services that will drive industry's evolution towards a more sustainable future. With over two decades of experience, Rebecca has a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. This includes identifying and appraising existing technology readiness, and championing the latest advancements in innovations that are reducing emissions from existing facilities and unlocking the full potential of an integrated energy system.
Innovators across the energy sector often face years of delay before their technologies reach operational scale, especially in complex areas like offshore methane measurement. NZTC is tackling this challenge head-on through a joint innovation programme in the North Sea, bringing together operators and technology developers to conduct controlled release trials. By creating neutral ground for shared testing and learning, NZTC is fast-tracking the validation of emerging and existing measurement technologies, with the goal of building a consistent, repeatable, and scalable framework for industry-wide adoption.
