Pre-Conference Workshop Day: Tuesday, December 2

9:45 AM Workshop F: From Frameworks to Site: Making Sense of MiQ, OGMP 2.0, and the Audit Process

As certified gas and OGMP 2.0 gains traction in both domestic and international markets, operators are facing growing pressure to validate their methane performance through independent frameworks. But what does certification actually take and is it worth it?

This workshop takes a clear-eyed look at the evolving landscape of third-party verification and the market (or lack thereof) for certified gas. We'll break down what certification really entails from a technical, operational, and commercial perspective. Join to:

  • Explore how certification can impact market access, pricing, and buyer relationships
  • Consider why certificates are becoming crucial for accurate Scope 3 reporting
  • Gain practical insights into how MiQ audits are conducted and what operators should understand about demonstrating methane performance
  • Learn how MiQ and OGMP 2.0 frameworks intersect — and how to strategically align with both without duplicating effort
  • Explore common challenges and best practices in preparing for third-party verification across different asset types
