4:00 PM State Regulator Exchange: State Solutions in a Time of Federal Uncertainty

As federal methane regulations face political shifts and potential rollback, the role of state-level action has never been more critical. However, while this leadership helps move the needle forward, increasingly prescriptive requirements and regulatory complexity are creating new challenges, particularly for operators managing compliance across multiple jurisdictions. This panel will explore how states are shaping the future of methane management and how operators can adapt strategically.

  • Gain direct insights from state regulators on how methane rules are evolving and what operators need to be thinking about now to stay ahead
  • Understand the regulatory mindset behind different state approaches — from strict, prescriptive frameworks to more flexible, performance-based models
  • Learn actionable strategies to streamline compliance across jurisdictions — minimizing operational complexity and reducing risk when working across multiple states
