Alexandre Thibeault is passionate about technology innovation. He started his career in the field of experimental physics research, working on neutrino and anti matter research in TRIUMF and CERN. He then specialized in remote sensing, leading projects on a CH4 spaceborne detection system development, hyperspectral gas detection, and autonomous driving systems. Alexandre, together with his team, built and helped commercialize the leak detection product at Flyscan using hyperspectral and RGB cameras. His expertise lies in signal processing, strategic management, and optical systems.

11:00 AM Presentation: Targeting Methane Abatement Where It Matters Most: Improving Detection Confidence and Prioritisation Across Pipeline Networks
As midstream operators scale methane reduction programmes across extensive transmission assets, a key challenge is determining where intervention will deliver the greatest impact. This session explores how advances in aerial monitoring are improving detection confidence, reducing operational complexity, and providing the actionable intelligence needed to prioritise abatement activities across pipeline networks. Beyond methane detection alone, integrated aerial inspections are enabling operators to address multiple integrity objectives in a single survey—maximising the value of every flight while supporting both emissions reduction and pipeline integrity programmes.
• Explore how independently validated, high-sensitivity aerial monitoring can help operators identify actionable emissions sources and prioritise mitigation efforts with greater confidence.
• Examine how combining methane detection, liquid hydrocarbon leak detection, right-of-way threat and encroachment monitoring, geohazard assessment, and post-weather inspections into a single aerial survey can reduce cost, minimise operational disruption, and eliminate the need for multiple inspection campaigns.
