Julia Schmitt

Julia Schmitt is member of the sustainability team of Wintershall Dea and is coordinating the companies’ methane emission activities on a corporate level. Julia has 25 years of extensive international experience in the gas and oil industry. Julia Schmitt has a Master Degree in Structural Geology from the University of Bergen, Norway and joined Wintershall in 1996. The first 15 years of her career she spent for Wintershall in various oil and gas operations and projects and was based in Libya, The Netherlands, Germany and Qatar. Since 2020 Julia Schmitt is representing Wintershall Dea in international methane focused initiatives such as the Methane Guiding Principles, OGMP 2.0, IPIECA and IOGP.
