Expert in oil and gas policy with a distinguished career in both the public and private sectors. I am the founder and director of Talanza Energy, a leading company in Latin America that provides innovative solutions and consulting for methane emissions reduction. My work focuses on driving the sustainability of the energy industry. At Talanza Energy, we specialize in emissions management across the entire value chain: upstream, midstream, and downstream. Additionally, I have collaborated internationally as a consultant for the United Nations Environment Programme and the government of Colombia, advising on the design and implementation of regulations. My goal is to combine experience in regulation and innovation to promote a more sustainable energy future.
Methane mitigation technologies are often developed for US and EU operating contexts—leaving a gap when applied in Latin America’s complex terrain and constrained environments. From dense vegetation and cloud cover to budget limits and skills-shortages, regional operators face unique hurdles. This panel will explore how LATAM stakeholders are adapting technologies, reshaping strategies, and building partnerships to close the implementation gap.
