Roy is a thought leader and inventor, always looking for the better way. He is currently helping write the standards for offshore renewable energy, sits on two Conference committees, and is an invited speaker on the topics of Offshore Energy and project management. He has spent more than 30 years working in offshore energy, first with oil and gas and for the last 7 years in offshore renewable energy. Roy holds a firm conviction that the long-term success of renewable energy and the blue economy are systems that are profitable enough without subsidy to attract investment. Along the way he married Cristina, with whom he shares three small children, Sabrina, Monique, and Lucas. He speaks Portuguese and Spanish and has worked or lived-in 12 countries.
