9:00 AM Panel Discussion: MRV Standards in Focus: Compliance, Efficiency, and Market Opportunity

Methane measurement, reporting, and verification (MRV) standards are rapidly evolving worldwide, driven by regulatory initiatives such as the EU’s import requirements and the patchwork of US federal and state rules. For APAC operators, this creates both challenges and opportunities to align with multiple, sometimes divergent frameworks while maintaining operational efficiency. This panel examines the growth of MRV standards, their implications for APAC, and strategies for harmonizing compliance and reporting across jurisdictions.

  • Analyze key global MRV frameworks—including the EU Methane Regulation and US federal/state policies—and their impact on APAC operators
  • Discuss challenges APAC companies face in meeting varied MRV requirements amid regional regulatory gaps and evolving market expectations
  • Explore pathways to harmonize reporting practices and data transparency across multiple standards
  • Highlight best practices and collaborative approaches to streamline MRV implementation and verification in complex regulatory environments
